The Slogan of the EFSC in Kaunas Carries a Profound Message

Magic and excitement will infuse Lithuania at the outset of 2024, as the 2024 European Figure Skating Championships will take place at Kaunas’ Žalgiris Arena from January 8th to 14th. This kind of event will be hosted in Lithuania for the very first time.

The championship’s logo was revealed on Friday. A logo that symbolizes the city of Kaunas and the harmonious confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers. The logo is accompanied by the meaningful slogan, “We Want More”.

As stated by the organizers of this historical event, the slogan reflects a profound desire and aspiration for many things: realms of love, respect, peace, help, enlightenment, truth, empathy, acceptance, exploration, triumph, hope, and all that may bring happiness, fulfillment, kindness, and inner peace upon humanity.

“Many of us have experienced human apathy, sometimes inadvertently passing it on to others. Nevertheless, we retain the willingness to transform and make changes,” stated Vytautas Jasutis, President of the Lithuanian Skating Federation when representing the slogan. “We want to create new paths for ourselves and those around us, forsaking indifference and prevailing self-centeredness, in order to foster personal growth and enhancement.”

“The slogan ‘We want more’ is about all of us,” continued one of the event’s organizers. “It doesn’t matter who you are – whether you’re Lithuanian, Samoan, American, from New Zealand, German, skilled or still learning, good or not so good – we all want more. We want to create, discover, connect, achieve, love, have the space to learn from our mistakes, and embrace our individuality. We hold the belief that wanting more is valuable when driven by meaningful intentions. Therefore, we extend an invitation to everyone to join us on this gleaming winter journey, as we embrace the desire for more every day.”

Tickets for this historic event will be available starting September 15th.
